I need to do a logo for a friend (a childs hand with flowers) and, contrary to my usual endeavors, want it to appear more hand drawn, and less photo-realistic. Ive just blipped past this topic in the past, so would like to ask if you guys might recommend some good threads or tutorials related to rendering in these styles? (or even suggest some samples of this genre in the Galleries that merit a look?)

Holly Crap! I can't believe it. There's a whole 'nother window that I've never opened even once I'm ashamed to say! I've clicked Sketch Style Render in Render Options, but never bothered to see what was behind it. Hmmmm... lots 'o new little slider thingies. Uh, Doc, did you happen to do a tute on this guy?

I tried and tried, but never really liked the results you get with the Sketch Renderer (which is what prompted me to start experimenting with Z-tooning and such). They're very useful for creating an abstract painted look, but not for detailed illustration. There's a Z-toon by Eowyn in the gallery here that I think is better than anything I've even done with it. ;) Stewer and Crescent also know a lot about P5 cartoon shaders, and maybe they can help too. Good luck! :) SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

btw you said hadn of child plus flowers, need to look a bit "hand drawn" or something.. i was experimenting a dumb newbie technic to make some "strange" render look at the very early days of animedoll( cause dumb me was unable to produce good renders as everyone did so easily out of the box with it)... i had a problem with blacklien (issue now solved in an independant way) and i ma gettign back to it.. look at pictures of my gallery called "ichigo strike erin", "inner voices" and "morning swimmer" and tell me is such kind of "hand painted" look would fit your needs, and ask me, i'll tell you how to achive the look. (notice: on the three pictures, except for the strawberry textures, all items are NON TEXTURED, plain "poser color" without anything else.. skin especially, no body texture of any kind")
