For a first picture this is excellant. I would put some grass on the shoreline to give it some depth, but you'd need a lot so your computer would probably die :-) I'd also put some reeds in the water to give some extra detail. But it looks great as it is, well done.

Rynn, your first picture is excellent. I enjoyed the misty feeling you portrayed in it. I agree with jarm, some reeds in the water would have given it extra detail, however, the water rippling through has given it enough if that was what you wre aiming for. I can't wait to see more of your work. :D Sacred

Thanks everyone for your opninions, I'm going to think about the reeds next time I make a waterpicture. :) I did try to put some grass on the shores, but I couldn't get it right so I left that out. Thanks again. :)

Maybe add a couple of rocks in the water too? Mike

Nice results for a first effort. I'll agree with the person who commented on the water. Smooth it out a little, otherwise great work. JAS

heyas; this came out nicely! you were braver than i was, putting a whole buncha plants in your scene :) if you change the water's texture's scale, so it is larger, it won't look like a little grid like that. (you put it on the ground plane, right?) try 5 or 8 and see how the texture size changes the appearance. oh... and i think the ducklings need to be sunk into the water a bit further. :) (and is that rynn as in drakan?)

Hi everyone, and thanks again for all the tips. I'm afraid my computer crashed sunday, and now it's sort of dead. :( But my dad lets me install one of my 2 graphic programs on his computer (which I am using at the moment). I haven't desided yet if it will be Vue or paint shop pro. Tough decision. And yes, it is Rynn as in Drakan. :) I didn't put the water on the ground plane, I put it on an infinite plane, but I didn't change anything to the texture scale. I have to admit I hadn't read the entire manual yet. blush I couldn't wait to try something out.

heyas; well, infinite plane, ground plane... they're pretty much the same. :) geeze, you made all this without even going through the tutorials? (or is that part you read?) i usually do tutorials, get used to where the tools and all are, and how to use 'em. check out this site for a friend of mine who has drakan poser figures and stuff: http://Oneth.tripod.com/

Umm, no, I haven't done the tutorials yet. I first wanted to read the other parts of the manual. I'm now almost on the editors part. Ones my computer is working again I will be ready to start on the tutorials. :)

I love the picture! The lake and foliage is the sort I imagine for one of my stories. Now I have a picture to write a better description. Thanks!
