Good concept, but perhaps Apollo looks a little too smiley? As opposed to a character who is more awe inspiringly god-like. (Though the look I'm suggesting is not an easy task with the good'ol P4 dork.) (& I've sent you an OT IM)

Find a stone texture for the man, his hair and his cloak, and make him look like a statue. Might give it a more distinguished look. And search for a picture on the internet of the milky way or a nice nebula, the background looks a little plain. The idea is there, and it will work well witha bit more attention to detail. Good luck!

...and maybe adding a portion of the arc of the lunar surface spanning the bottom of the frame in front of Apollo might also help add some depth & scale. numanoid's suggestion about the background photo would help, but be sure to check the contest rules.

Remember that all pictures and videos taken by NASA or any other government agency are royalty free and public domain. You have already paid for them with your tax dollars, so you don't have to pay for them again.

Wasn't sure & just asked that over in the copyright forum.

No, don't make him (Apollo) stone texturedmake him gold or bronze. He was the god of the sun, and the ancients painted or gilded his statues accordingly.

Yep, better idea. Gold or bronze, with a good reflection map will be excellent.

You should be able to select the black corners on the badge in almost any paint program. Then delete them and you're left with a nice round badge to paste upon your background picture :o) The idea is very nice and I like the background, only the sky looks greyish green on my monitor. Perhaps boost the contrast on it would help?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Tried the landscape in front of Apollo so that he looks larger than the moon and standing in space behind it, rather than standing on it? Also, re NASA photos, they are almost, but not completely PD, see the link that ynsaen found: http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/images/policy/index.cfm in this thread in the Copyright forum: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12395&Form.ShowMessage=1646541

Oh, right click on the picture to save it to your machine. The Apollo patches should be legal to use and distribute.
