Thanks for everyone who voted for my image, I sincerely feel that there was a lot of work put into many of the other pics but I appreciate being able to come up with a new challenge idea! To quote Dennis Leary, "I celebrate a wide variety of emotions, all the way from anger to pure rage." So I hope no one minds if I don't choose a Valentine's or love-related topic for this month's challenge.... (grins) I checked over the last few month's topics, but if I'm duplicating a recent topic feel free to let me know. This month's challenge is to create an image of a dwelling. Not A dwelling, YOUR dwelling, your ideal house, castle, shack, hovel, basement, apartment... Whatever kind of place YOU would like to live in. It can even be the place you live in currently, and of course the focus is on challenging yourself, not necessarily realism or detail! Go crazy, be extravagant, a person's conception of their ideal sanctuary reflects deeply... (bows to all of you)

very cool idea and one I'd have to say hasn't been seen here before, or at least, for a very long time. :)

Dialyn, it's an open contest as far as I know... You could paint something and scan it, or draw, or use Photoshop, or anything! I say go for it...

Originally started with the hope of it fitting the bryce challenge theme, but it doesn't. It does however fit here. Link is to a larger version in my gallery. House built and all rendered in bryce. When my father died, I had this sudden vision of him sitting up there with his old dog Trinket squeezed in beside him on a cloud chair and I knew with all my heart he was keeping watch over me. I've told this story before, but I'll share it with you now. After he died, several years later I bought my own house, and, almost immediately, I started receiving letters with his name at my address. It was all junk mail kind of stuff, but, every time I get one, I think my dad sent it to let me know he's still there for me. It may be silly, but it comforts me. And now when one of my precious pets have to cross the rainbow bridge, I tell them that they are going to be with my dad, because he always took care of my little ones in my absence, and I give them a little message to tell him when they get there. And that comforts me too. I suspect, being the kind of guy he was, he welcomed your mom in and showed her around and they're having talks about their kids, and still keeping watch over us. At least, I can imagine it so. Take care.
