First try at uploading did't seem to take. I've tried again.

Please try once more, and post a JPG. TIF won't work, and most browsers won't accept a BMP, either.

That looks really great for your first try at Carrara! Did you do all the modelling in Carrara as well as the rendering?

Yes. All models were developed from within Carrara in the vertex and spline methods. Although I must admit that I'm having a bitch of a time with some complex models I'm trying to create. Think I may use a lofting technique. My probelm is that I've storyboarded this environment for an animation sequence and all characters need to interact...what a chore. Thanks for the compliment...I'll tell my folks that the architecture degree paid off after all! Hope to share improvements in techniques.

Seems as though you have picked up Carrara's modeller much faster than I have. I got my modelling start in Rhino, which has proven so intuitive that switching to another modeller (specifically Carrara's) seems quite daunting.

Agreed. Having a working knowledge of CATIA has helped. It would be nice to see some third party extensions that would provide additional modelling rooms, such as carving. Though one could carve in vertex, the interface isn't all that clean.

Very nice work; particularly the textures. I'd suggest some less intense lighting, though. Kinda makes things look a little plastic. But excellent start! And an architecture degree will always pay off. Eventually. - Chip
