Hi y'all, I just started with Poser (5) and I'm having trouble with fitting the (downloaded) clothes) to the standard figures. Does anyone have any tips or links to the 'better' tutorials? I also tried the standard clothing, I've turned the IK chains of, set the zero position, added the clothing but when I apply a new pose to the figure, the clothing stays at the same location. What am I doing wrong? Any help is appreciated.

Have you conformed the clothing to the figure? (Figures -> Conform To) Also, make sure the clothing you download is meant for the figures you are using. The standard P5 figures are Don and Judy. Clothing made for the P4 people (Dork and Posette) or the DAZ figures (Mike and Vicky) won't fit them.

Thanks... that did the job, some weird stuff happened earlier, like the 'conform to' was disabled from the menu but after some experiments this works but how can I make clothing for another figure fit? The dress I'm trying is meant for a character called 'Victory', The shoes and the gloves are made for the Poser 5, Judy character. Does anyone know a good tutorial for this? Hints/tips are also welcome.

You should make sure the clothing you want to conform is the active figure. Make sure it's the item you see listed underneath the main window. As for fitting clothing made for other characters...I'm afraid that's not easy. That's why people buy clothing in the MP here. :-) For still images, you can often fudge it with scaling and careful use of camera angles. For a true fit, or for animation, you'll have to buy special software and learn how to use it. If you're new to Poser, IMO you'd be better off putting that money toward the Victoria figure sold at DAZ. They have a special promotion running now that will get you 30% off the list price. If you don't want to do that, register at DAZ (it's free), and eventually they will offer you the low-res versions of Mike and Vicky for free. You'll be able to use clothing made for Mike and Vicky 1/2 with those figures. In the mean time, you might want to use the P4 figures (Dork and Posette). They come with Poser 5, and there's a lot more freebies for them. For a variety of reasons, the P5 figures have never really caught on.
