what do you mean by "animation quality" ?? the quality of your animation depends on your skill as an animator. the animation tools are indentical in both the Mac an PC versions of poser5 and franky have not really changed since Metacreations(Meta Who??) poser4. rendering speed etc. will vary according to system specs.

Greetings, I am sorry, I was not clear enough. By "animation quality" I ment final renders of movies. I guess that's standard on both versions. (Meta Who??), you got that one right! LOL Since MACOS X PANTHER, I have seem many improvement on a lot of my MAC graphics type of applications. Fast Fast Fast. Especially on a G5. The reason I am considering a PC version, is because I can save about $40 to $50 on the cost of POSER 5 (shipping included). Have you used both versions? What do you think? Regards, Bill

I havent used the PC version of Poser5 but the MAC version is rather stable BUT if you have Access to a powerful PC and can get poser5 cheaper than the MAc version I say use the Windows version because you will have access to Many great clothing converters like tailor and markdc's new clothing utility.

The Mac version is more stable than the PC version, for instance theres a memory leak in P5 on the PC when rendering animations to single pictures. The PC sometimes simply stops. I have seen this behavior also when calculating dynamics both for clothes and hair - this never happened on the MAC. Also when you like to make big size renders - the Mac simply renders almost any size of output without complaining. Generally (I have no G5 yet) the MACS are slower than the PCs but much more reliable. If you are into serious commercial production and want something reliable nothing counts more than having the result. It often happended to me that I started a Python controlled render with many pictures on the PC on friday evening - when I came on monday it was simply crashed. I then transferred the whole project to the MAC and it rendered without complaining. Simple equation: Speed - take a PC (over 2 ghz, at least 2 gig RAM) Reliability: Take a MAC (any, but more is always better) Mungo
