Maybe its me, or maybe its my aged PC. Sometime when I try to opena prop I get a message along the lines of "cannot locate Object file" followed by "You're out of memroy" Anyone kmow the cause - soltion to this? Chris

"Cannot locate object" means there's a file missing from the Geometries folder, or the .pp2 is corrupted. Or both. The "Out of memory" error is a generic Poser "Waaaaa!", nothing specific to the actual problem. Solution is to reinstall, or if there is a call to the Geometries folder, you should delete the .rsr file in there.

Funny thing about those RSR's in the Geometry folders... I got so tired of the files corrupting and killing my scenes, that I finally did a "search" through the entire folder for all of the RSR's for deletion. There were two files over 10 megs, a good two dozen over 5 megs and a bunch of miscellaneous files around 1 meg. In all, it was almost a gig's worth of memory in RSR's alone! Talk about a waste of space!

Turnkey97a, when Poser 4 opens an *.obj file for the first time it creates an *.rsr file in the same folder as the obj. Corruption of this *.rsr file is a common cause of the problem you discribe. Make a backup copy of the rsr file then delete the rsr. Next time you open the pp2 Poser 4 will rebuild the rsr. The rsr will be in one of the geomGeometries subfolders, don't delete any rsr from the library folders, these supply thumbnals for the pallets and will not be rebuilt.
