Yes I'm moving files and some of them are so dusty it's pitiful. I'm using the camera folder but it's filling fast, what was the other folder that you can use for poses, is it hands? Thanks, Marque

Yep, you can use Hands, hd2, but only one hand will load the pose correctly. Can't remember which one it is, though. You can also use Lights, lt2.

Hand and Face. When you apply a MAT pose from the Hands folder, Poser will stubbornly ask to which hand you want the pose applied, but the MAT still works properly.

And if you put in Face you'll get the warning that some elements do not apply to this figure. It'll still load OK though, you'll just be bothered by the bell and having to click OK. Might be time to PBooost...

I have pboost but it doesn't work all the time and I'm tired of messing with it. I was thinking of using these folders for just textures, no poses, so in that cast right or left hand won't matter. Thanks for this info!! Marque

marque, Cameras and Face are 100% sure in Poser 4. Do NOT use the Light folder. It doesn't work. Hand is OK if you can stand the stupid message. Beware that in Poser 5, MATs placed in other folders may not always work. It depends how well they are made. If they're made sloppily, they might cause problems. O this T, I remember you asking about a batch renamer. Just to let you know, the link above is to the one I've used for years. I mention it because recently, I saw how many people recommended CK Rename. Well, I got it and tried it and was shocked. It doesn't even have the simple fuction of renaming files from 01 - whatever. At least, I couldn't find it. So, I've gone back to my trusty old Rename Files. maclhiannan posted Sat, 07 February 2004 at 9:49 PM
Actually, .lt2 (light) does work, but it will turn off all your lights when you use the pose. VERY annoying.

"Do NOT use the Light folder." Yup, my mistake. Apologies. :( Poser folders seem to be in two distinct categories - those which bring in geometry (Figures, Props, Lights) and those which move things around (Pose, Hand, Face, Camera). Poses can go in any of the "move around" folders.

wyrwulf, I tried that option about 20 times, and b***r me if I could get it to work! All it did was add numbers before the file names, which is not what I wanted. I frequently number folders of thumbnails 001 - 099 or whatever, and with Rename Files I can also add text before the number, like pose001 - pose099. Looking at the interface again, I see that maybe I needed to check 'remove filename' at the same time. Ah well, Rename Files does everything I need. mac

There are a few ways to rename and number files. To just have numbers, you would select Remove under Change Filename and either Before or After under Auto Number, then set your Start At, Increment, and Zero Fill. To just add numbers, select None under Change Filename, After under Auto Number, and set Start At, Increment, and Zero Fill. It takes a little experimenting to get exactly what you want. It's what you are used to. I like CK Rename because you can right click a folder to open it in CK Rename.
