Okay, so I am rendering the intro for my college animation project with Poser, but I have run into some difficulties. When I render a still image of a frame of the animation, it comes out as crystal clear as daylight. But when I render the animation as a whole, it comes out very blocky and muddy, and does not look at all as clear as the frame animation. Any help on this issue would be fantastic.

Here is the single frame render.

And a frame from the video rander using the exact same settings.

I just want to know why there would be such a difference in clarity between the two. Do the codecs that you use for the move make a difference? Or does the compression affect the quality? I rendered the animation with no compression and still I have many problems.

Yes, the codec and compression strength can make a considerable difference. I wouldn't recommend Cinepak or Microsoft's Video 1, for instance. This, however, looks like a low-resolution video that's been enlarged. Are you rendering the movie at the same size as the still-frame?

This pixelization is partially enlargement (the two images are of different sizes) but L_D is absolutely correct -- know your codecs. I always render uncompressed avi at slightly larger (1 to 5%) than intended viewing size and then reduce afterwards.
