In poser 4 I would render my figure then save it as a jpg then import it as a background then move the camera so just the pic was in view, then save the figure and I'd get a thumbnail. It doesn't seem to work in poser 5 - I just got a blank circle. Any ideas. Remember I have a mac so thumbnail making software may not be an option. Love esther

Render your figure and export the render directly to the library as a PNG thumbnail image. You'll probably want to keep it small ... no wider than 91 pixels. If you have a paint program that supports PNG, you can render to whatever size you like, then scale it down to thumbnail size. The background trick stopped working back in Pro Pack.

U guys just saved me a lot of work. Here's my "notes to me" for making thumbs in P5...(please understand; this is NOT directions, just self-reminders..) Changing .png thumbs. This is more finicky than in P4! Example from the all'n'wonder dress... 1. Load figure etc & dress. 2. Size screen to be square 3. Position as required and render. 4. Paste to background (under "display" menu) 5. Switch to aux cam and move cam til only the background can be seen. 6. Save to library with new name (eg for 2PieceRed, save as 2PieceRed2) This will just show up as blank, 'cos there's no alpha channel! 7. Open the new .png file in PSP 8. Load a relevant mask (there's a "0.msk" in the All-n-Wonder tex directory) 9. Save the file -- check in poser (pop out of the directory and back in again) 10. Delete the old .png file and the new .pz2 file, rename new .png file to the old name. Sheesh! THANKS -- it's a lot easier now! time to wander off to freestuff/utilities...

I resize the document file to 91x91, render the image and save to the library as a png file. This way you can even save a background set as part of the thumbnail!!!

I also just render at 91x91 and save the .png over the default png that Poser created when I saved it. I made a UI preset just for that and it works great.
