I'm trying to use reflection maps in the material room and don't seem to be putting them in the right place. Is it the reflection color node? This is to make shiny latex with a strong reflecion. Thanks, solofalcon459

yes you can put the reflection node under the Alternate diffuse color (white) set the reflection node color to black, you will get black latex effect with strong reflection of the object around.. if there is nothing else you don't get any reflections as only the light..

wow, that's great, thanks. Where would you plug in an image for it to reflect? I do pin-ups with white backgrounds and I want to use an image for a reflection. solo
Mec4D posted Sun, 15 February 2004 at 1:53 PM
you know what you can do? create your scene, put inside a square the cloth high resolution, plug in the image and your model will reflect it in a very natural way.. if you plug the photo into the surface it will not so natural

now it looks better but still looks as a polished dark metal to me, if you use the specular node it will looks more as plastic.. but well you get in good way..

Mec4d, It would be a very valuable rescorce if you could upload a tutorial to renderosity's tutorial section on this and your fur tech. I for one have been hopeing that you would do this:)

Cath, the banner at the top of the page, "Poser Back Room" is where the tutorials go. I'd love to see some in depth stuff on the shaders and other material nodes.

Oh thanks! usually I read always the tutorials from the FrontPage when something is new and interesting.. I was thinking to make just a graphic that show you how to set for all materials, from glass to fur etc.. with settings for the shades .. this will a good idea I think.. will working on this and finish next weekend as well.. Cath
