how does everyone get thumbnails so big?(200 by 200) and still have them look good without going over the 15kb limit? i keep having thumbnails 75 by 75 and it just doesnt even look worth checking out when you see it next to all the large thumbs.

The way I do it is in PhotoShop, there is a "save for web" option that trims down the filesize very well without distortion. Deb

All depends on what you are saving/converting the jpg with. I always suggest a freeware utility called "Irfanview", you save your jpg's on a percentage scale of quality 0%-100%. I suggest start with saving at around 85%, and see what Kb results you get, and go from there. There's lots of utilities to do this with, but it all comes down to experimenting with the jpg quality saving options. Almost every jpg will save differently. AgentSmith

My first question is, what format does the app your using output the image as? Secondly, what apps are you using to do any psot work and or compress your images with? Here's what I do... In MojoWorld I output the images as a PNG or TIFF file.. I do any postwork in Photoshop usually. Then I save it as a JPEG, at the highest setting. next I open the image in PhotoImpact.. I do my "real compression" there. why? because it offers more flexibility in compression than Photoshop. IMHO I don't like to go below 90% in that app.. I'd rather resize than go with more compression. I try to keep my images that I post under 250KB. The biggest thing, as far as your question, is to make your thumbnails from the compressed JPEG, not the original render. I try to keep my thumnails around 10K or less I think they come out pretty clear "pushinfaders"
