Lovely! The road turned out great, too. Perhaps you should post it in the Challenge Arena monthly contest? The variation in your plants is a nice touch!

Hey I think I have had a drink in that pub! :-) Nice work.

OK, put us out of our misery - where is it? My guess is Wales somewhere :)

I'll have a pint and a pack of pork scratchings please landlord!
Sambucus posted Tue, 17 February 2004 at 3:10 PM
Pogmahone, I was thinking more of the Lake district. Last time I was in Wales they had funny opening hours. Bad experience LOL. PerryMck, the vegetation is from rdnas grassland and field packs. I luv
em. Orbital, that`ll be 2.75. Extortionate, innit?

Isn't that car driving on the wrong side of the road for the UK? Maybe he had one too many. Not too bad for a pint and some scratchings. I'd be surprised to get change from a fiver in London.
Sambucus posted Tue, 17 February 2004 at 3:55 PM
drawbridgep The land rover`s parked. Typical bloody farmer, think they own the countryside. LOL Gawd, what do you drink pints of?

Road looks great. How did you do it? Hows the food in Wales? pork scratchings? Are they like pork rinds? Yuck!
Sambucus posted Tue, 17 February 2004 at 5:22 PM
The road is a phototexture. It was a swine to get it sized and all lined up though. Pork scratching s are the food industries way of using up all the bits that once would have gone into the bin, like chicken wings.

Orbital ya fckin northern Bstard. Feel like a pint off? I'll drink a pint of vodka and you can drink a pint of boddies. (Obviously I'll need mine in a cocktail glass with an umbrella) OK, I see a fatal flaw with this idea. Aaron - Pork scratchings are a national dish over here. All this talk of scratchings and chicken wings and alcohol makes me wish the pub was open. Maybe I'll nip down the kebab shop.

This is really cool Sambucus. There is one thing that I notice and maybe it is just me....Maybe I have had a pint too many.... but it looks like that car parked in the middle is floating just a little off the surface of the pavement. It's gotta be the grog! None-the-less this is a very cool render Sambucus. Wade

So pork scratchings are made of pig parts that only other pigs should see? I like chicken wings == buffalo wings if you have hot sauce and blue cheese. Always wash hands before putting in eyes. Owww!

The food in Wales is just fine, thank you very much! But this ain't Wales. The markings in the road are the wrong colour for a start. This could just be....the B217 near the village of Dogs Bollocks. Nice place but don't touch the beer! Sam, you almost did it. You almost created the perfect scene. Any more realism and you'd have had me fooled...sigh.

Beautifull work on all counts. Especially like the way the trees turned out and it's sense of depth. Nice one me thinks.

Wow. A very oil-painting feeling to that. Where did you get the wheat? My objection: the inn doesn't belong in the picture, texture wise. It's too ... artificial looking. Also, you could do a bit of postwork on the parking lot, so there are no wheel-traces and yellow lines on it. Change that and it would be excellent. My 0.02 ... cents. :-)

Great work Sambucus. You should be able to build buildings using byrce primatives and terrains. You might even try to make grasses with terrains.
chohole posted Wed, 18 February 2004 at 5:59 AM
I do tend to agree with you on the texture. I have the same problem all the time trying to make bryce built buildings look weatherworn and aged. What we need is a source of building textures whereby we have a photo texture of an entire wall, not just a small section that needs to be tiled. Does anyone have any ideas where such could be found?

Your realism is spectacular. The trees , grass etc. Only quirks I have is the scale of the man and dog.If he layed down on the road he would be as long as it is wide.Might hit his head on the door header too LOL. Oh... I did like when you had yellow lines before. Sorry Im nit picking.
