Hi, heres my problem: I got myself Poser 4 Meta Creations. Recently, I updated it to Curious Labs 4.03, so I could Beta Test Insomniaworks' Catsuit better. Sure it worked better, and a few other things worked aswell......but other things suffered....like the MAYADOLL! Also, other things I like, for example, MayaDoll clothing don't work either.....! What do I do. It sais I need to update the memory, I did (from Curious Labs aswell) and it still won't work.... I don't want to go back to the other one, cause now some of the things are working, but others arn't....What do I do to fix all of this? Please help?

Here's what I recommend: Most drastic: Do a fresh install of Poser 4, and then before installing anything else, install the 4.03 patch. Then, I know it's a pain, but reinstall all your other stuff. Least drastic: Get Correct Reference, and also closely examine what's left of your old original meta creations folder. My guess is there's some stuff in your old runtime that's supposed to be in your new runtime. Hope this helps, Jack

First, Correct Reference is a PC-only product, if you are on a Mac, it won't help you. I went from 4 to 4.03 without a problem, and then up to ProPack easily... and I moved jillions of files between machines and formats, too, but my Mac tends to be well-behaved. Alloting memory and such stuff is easy. I do have problems with MAT files and things relying upon them, since I keep as much as possible outside of Runtime, including textures... but that is my choice. Note: occasionally an rsr file in the Geometries folder can get corrupted. If you are only having problems with Mayadoll and her clothes, rather than widespread problems with hundreds of files, I'd check that particular file before doing a full-fledged reinstall. Since conforming clothing often references the underlying body, I'm suspicious that the model herself has a snag. Carolly

As hauksdottir suggested, if the .cr2 files are locking up while loading it sounds like an .obj or .rsr problem. If so though, you should also be getting an error message something like "cannot load geometry file whatever.obj" or somesuch, along with the good'ol "you need more memory" message. Are you only getting the Memory error message?

Yup....... I've given up on it and went back to my old one......but i'm thinking of upgrading to Poser 5.....doesn't seem too expensive from amazon.co.uk.......just 155......now, just to get FFX-2 then save up for Poser 5.......

oh, and I got both error messages.....so your right.....

Check the 'Upgrade' price directly from Curious Labs. I think its cheaper than Amazon. And if the "Arigatou" means you're not in the States, downloading from their website may provide additional savings over importing the retail box set. (I was just there looking also).
Back to the original problem - it really just sounds as though some of your /geometries subdirectories got moved or left behind somewhere. Going from P4 to to 4.03 should not have involved any such folder moving or deletions (IIRC).
Or (long shot) could one your upper level folders have been renamed? -- such as from /Poser 4 with a space, to /Poser4 with no space. (seen that one a few times in downloads).
The items you mentioned that did not work were all aftermarket items that may have used absolute file path references in the .CR2 rather than relative paths. (which would be silly, but stuff happens)
You can open the .CR2 for Mayadoll in a text editor and see if your .OBJ geometry is still in the folder referenced in that file.
If all the .OBJ files appear intact, the problem may be the corrupt .RSRs that Hauksdottir mentioned. You can delete (or temporarily move elsewhere) all the corresponding .RSR files in those geometry folders and let Poser rebuild them the next time each .OBJ is called.
Bottom line is that if you actually have an uncorrupted .RSR or .OBJ file in the exact directory called in the figures.CR2, you would not be getting P4.03's cannot load geometry error message.
