![pdd02.jpg](http://www.aarrgghh.com/media/pdd02.jpg)this was originally posted in the character creators forum, but that forum, like the animation forum, appears to be very dead ...
i just finished a 3 min anim featuring custom characters built in lightwave and rigged & animated in poser. i've uploaded the movie to my website, with movie stills and a bit of exposition about its creation.

the whole enchilada is only (!) 27megs in quicktime format. you'll need the 3ivx codec in order to view the movie and i've made the codec downloadable (for both pcs & macs) from the same page as the movie.
enjoy!

Darn, I downloaded the codec and got zero from the download. I love animation. Wish I could have seen this one.

By which I mean, after I downloaded and executed the file, I still couldn't view the download because QuickTime said it couldn't find the necessary elements. I need some sleep.

that is a bugger. i'm on macs, but i have seen the thing run on a laptop running win98 & quicktime 5, as well as a desktop running winxp and quicktime 6. get some sleep & try again in the morning, maybe.

Doh. It would help if I updated my Quicktime once in awhile. Good animation! Clever.

I get stubborn sometimes. I like the fact that neither cat is weak....nicely balanced characterizations. I liked the addition of the birds. I get chirped at like that every morning when I go to get bird seed for the wild ones. Now I know what they'd really like to see!

i can't take credit for the script -- it's a shot-by-shot remake of the scene from the movie. but the birds were put in only after realizing i wouldn't be able to cut all their shots. although they were in mind from the beginning i didn't want to do the extra work, modeling & rigging an additional character and animating the crowd scenes, if i didn't have to. but i couldn't cut the last two bird (actually kids in the movie) shots without seriously editing the soundtrack. it just boiled down to what i could do faster -- include the birds or edit the kids from the soundtrack. you're probably happy the birds won.

I'm very happy the birds won, because it adds a dimension. Too
often we see graphics or animation where there's nothing around but
the main figures, and you wonder how it is that they exist in such
an empty world. There's life to the complication of the birds. More
trouble for you. But it gives the whole thing more depth. And you
really excpressed the script well. The extpression the cats, and
the way they moved is very smooth...and I liked the way the tom cat
showed off a bit with his cane. Makes me want to see more of their
story. >^,,^
