I have in my backyard a colony of Purple Martins that return from South America every spring. They come North each summer to raise their new babies and then return after a stay of about 4-5 months. I furnish them housing to raise their young which is made of gourds in clusters such as the picture attached. I have about 200 of these birds each summer that always come back to their home for the summer.

Have any of you seen a model of a gourd as shown in my picture or can a modeler make one. I hope Sharen of SAMS3D sees this thread. :o)
Daz3d has offered the Purple Martin in a new Package that has been released. If I can find some gourds I will then get the package with the Purple Martins. The gourd on the left is a natural one. The ones on the right are plastic and man made. The Purple Martins prefer the Natural over the plastic ones.

You can create a natural looking one easily inside Vue. Just needs a texture.

I was able to accomplish the same as you did before posting my request. A natural gourd doesn't have those break lines where the different size spheres are attached. I see you used 4 spheres if I am corrct. I thought a modeler could make one with the even flow of lines like nature does when the gourd is growing. Guess I am to nit picking with how natural it should look. :O) Maybe with the right texture the break lines would not be as noticeable. Thanks gebe yours does look pretty close to what I am after. :o)
