Could you be more specific. In most circumstances a texture map made in a paint progran and applied to a Poser square prop makes an acceptable sign.

In the above image both signs are a Poser square prop with a texture map applied to give the lettering, the top square is scaled down in the Y dimention, the bottom square uses a transparency map to make it circular. There are other ways you could make a changing sign, but it depends what you are using it for, and how you are using it. For instance is this for a static image or an animation? How many times does the sign need to change?

If the sign needs to change in an animation the following is one method to make a flat sign that can change to display 6 diffrent images on its front surface. 1. In Poser, load a Poser box prop. 2. Use the Group Editor to asign a difrent group to each facet of the box, name the facets 1, 2, 3, etc. Assign a diffrent material to each group, name the materials 1, 2, 3, etc. 3. Use the Hierachie Editor to convert the box into a figure. 4. apply a diffrent texture map with your desired wordings to each material of the new figure. 5. Z scale the BODY actor of the figure to 0.100%. 6. Resave the figure to a pallet. You can now selectivly show 4 of the facets by Y rotating the "box_1" body part of the figure in increments of 90 degrees, and you can show 2 more facets by X rotating box_1. The sign should be translated, scaled, and rotated via the Body actor NOT the box_1 body part. The box_1 actor should only be used to display the diffrent facets. Optionaly you can open the cr2 in a text editor and set the trackingScale for all 3 rotations of the box_1 actor to 90, and set 'hidden 1' for the taper, translation, and scale channels. This will make it easier to pose the sign correctly.

Thank you lesbentley I'll give some of these a go. It isn't for an animation Strixowl

Actually what I meant by changeable letters was: a sign that read anything, but I could change what it said to what I wanted it to say for a still pic.

Here's one that might do what you want.

Glad to be of help, but I'm still not too sure of what sort of sign you want, after all there are a lot of diffrent kinds, street signs, parking signs, neon signs, pub signs, protest signs, office door signs, etc.
