I just started useing Poser 5 with the new update tonight and found an odd problem. If I had the "Figure" with Hierarchy Window by clicking on its eye icon. Then when I try to show any body part. Its not visable in the scene or a render. The body parts properties show it as Visable though. This doesn't just happen sometimes. Its like that everytime I try, or with a whole new scene and figure.

That's something that's specifically is supposed to have been fixed in SR4. IT existed in SR3, as well. Will try to duplicate it.

you uncheck for sure the FIGURE eye icon.. if you did then you can click how much you wish and this will not visible.. The FIGURE need to by checked in if you wish to show only some parts of you figure in the scene. I updated and everything working fantastic here....Cath

Have you tried using -Show all Figures- I think it's under the Figure command.
I must remember to remember what it was I had to remember.

Mec4D, I cant really understand your post. nickedshield, that doesn't have any effect. I'm going to explain this again... Say you had a figure in your scene. You want to concentrate on one body part and hide all the others. You could open the Hierarchy Window and click all of them one by one to be invisable. Or you could do it the fast way. Click the very top one which hides all the figures parts. Then you would click the one you want to be visable. I'll post some pics.

The abdomen and chest are visable according to the Hierarchy Window and Properties info. The outline for selected chest is visable. But thats it.

do you see in the Hierarchy Window the FIGURE eye icon is not enable .. as I suspected this was the problem.. you can uncheck the body and all the parts but the FIGURE need to by visible, click on the FIGURE eye icon and problem is solved..

I can't show you my screen because I am rendering now but how you can see anything when you figure are not visible.. I see in the Hierarchy Window .. now do this way [Poser5]: open your model.. next open Hierarchy Window .. uncheck the BODY.. (not figure) then click on the eye icons of the body parts you wish to see.. and that is..nothing else to do..

The default behavior changed from Pro Pack to Poser 5 (initial release). An invisible Figure node can not be overridden any more. The difference is that the process you describe used to work with the figure and the body node in the hierarchy in Pro Pack. In Poser 5 it only works with the body node, still offering the desired behavior of quickly making everything invisible and then bringing back a larger part of the hierarchy by alt-clicking a body part. So essentially, Figure and Body react different. That is common though, for example on the parm palette, the Figure can't be selected individually at all, you have to do that elsewhere.

I see. The thing that really through me off was the fact that the properties shows it as visable and I use Pro Pack most of the time. Thanks
Mec4D posted Mon, 23 February 2004 at 10:07 PM
no Figure is not a group, so this react different.. I don't use pro pack for long time and I am used to P5 and really have not problems with it also after update..
