You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
I think I found the answer to my problem; hair! I had my question to CL tech support all written out, but decided to do some more some more experiments before making myself look an 'official' idiot by complaining about my own incompetence!
I've done enough tests now though to be pretty certain, put the hair on before the clothes and I get the problem, clothes before hair and it's fine.
To be honest, I can't be sure if I ever did the hair before the clothes with SR3, I think I did, but I can't really be sure.

yeah i did a bumcha different settings from default to all 0.0 ... chenged the stepping... the collision depth and such... i dont know what happened but like i said, 600 drape frames and it still hadent settled... try it... load don, load the hi res square and place it over dons head then goto the cloth room and setup a sim... i even tried it on the ground, it wasnt moving at all... maybe im doing something wrong... shrug that would be ahrd the beleive though since i was doing a slew of cloth dynamics just a few days ago and this never happened...
I've run a test with AnAn R2, Hmann's dynamic dress, and dynamic ponytail. Aside from the hand snagging the dress and yanking it partially off the figure around frame 268 (using a couple of Santa Monica Studio BVH's tweaked together), the cloth room has been working better for me than ever. I did move that backup folder out of the P5 tree, and it is a new install with only SR-3, SR-3 figure updater, and SR-4 installed. Off the top of my head, I would suggest checking to make sure there aren't =any= cloth-model intersections. All it takes is one vertex or polyline violating the collision conditions, and you will never get a conforming (when the hand broke through into the dress mesh, the dynamics froze at that point; it still followed the figure, but that was all. No further deformations). Oh well, off to tweak at the BVH file yet again, see if I can't prevent the rip; up to that point, that dress was performing perfectly....

Is it just me messing up? I really hope so... Installed P5 SR4 and did a quick test. Put the long summer dress on Judy, added a pose, went to the Cloth Room and did nothing I haven't done before. The draping frames took around 5 times as long as SR3, wasn't too bothered - thought, maybe it's doing a better job. After the last draping frame though, instead of starting on the animation frames, it went stupid and just started claiming to be calculating non-existent draping frames (up to 88 of 20, before I hit cancel) whilst displaying the first zero pose frame. I've since tried all the standard P5 dynamic clothes, plus Phil C's Halter Neck, with the same result. I've even let it run on up to draping frame 470 (of 10) before killing it. I just can't make it work at all! John
