hey whats going on around here i've havent much time to frequent the board and now i look at messages and it seems like the board is falling apart every one talking about removing all their links pictures emails and everything and copyright violations...can anyone give me a breif update? and if this place falls apart whats to become of everyone and the wonderful things this board has to offer? jeff

Edgenet, the people who host Renderosity have declared Martial Law. They have stripped all the moderators and admins of their privelages. Tim Croats of edgenet is now the self declared dictator of Renderosity. What started it all? Ed and Jack were trying to work a deal with Zygote and Curious labs to buy the software and domain from edgenet. Edgenet got greedy and killed the deal. Now we have a huge mess.

And it's not what most of you are thinking. But until I hear some facts to back it up. I'll remain open minded. ScottA

Well, Jack and Ed gave details. Exact figures. Edgenet gave heresay and then accused Jack and Ed of Nazi post deletions without any evidence. facts: Jack and Ed have given to the community. Edgnet has given nothing...only taken...now they want to take it all.

Having seen Jack and Ed around much more than Tim, I'm inclined to believe them. Having recieved details and figures from them and none from Tim, I'll go with the more detailed explanation. But, ultimately, it comes down to what do I believe? I believe that edgenet hasn't tried to compensate Jack and Ed for their hard work. No severance pay, no compensation deal, nothing. And now they wish to profit from it. Fact: That's called stealing, letter of the law or no. Fact: Edgenet broke their contract with Ed and Jack. I do not condone thievery or breaking promises made in good faith. Therefore, I have requested to the administrators of Renderosity to remove my email from their list and database, and I will go to the new site when it is up. Does this mean I'll be inconvenienced by less art to see or less material to download? Yes. I'll put up with inconvenience to back up my beliefs. To me, that's what it's all about.

This happened when the first split took place. Lots of people thought they too had all the facts because the moderators made lots of posts and so called detailed facts. We all found out later that they were only half truths in some cases. Thus Renderosity grew even bigger and better. Forget the past and you are destined to repeat the mistakes made by others before you. I'm waiting for more info before I hit the panic button. Not just one side of it. I've seen way too many snake oil salesmen run through here over the years to get all emmotional when this happens. ScottA
