ok while I normally am not bothered with the upload limit recently I was with a few pics and wanting to upload them..and realized something. the reason behind the upload to gallery restriction was bandwidth etc. if bandwidth is the problem then why can we still upload to the articles and forums after uploading to the gallery? doesnt that take up bandwith as well? also a reason was to keep the flood of images down or flood of bad images....do you think only the great artists are paying for more then one? this has made me think.....why exactly do we have the limit again? other then to get renderosity money?

It was NOT to keep down on floods of bad images. It was not to get Renderosity money, the idea of having a charge for more than one upload a day seemed to be more of an afterthought, since we knew that there would be SOME who would want more than one upload a day, might as well create a way for them to do so. but, take it as you will, lol. The limit wasn't Renderosity's idea. It was truly members who wanted the limit to begin with, and it was they who really rallied for it. A majority o four members didn't seem to mind, so... Limiting the the daily uploads does reduce the overall bandwidth, so it is THAT we are looking at, not the fact that the galleries have an upload limit vs. the forums, etc. Hope my ramblings help answer your questions, lol. sounds like you are having a night like mine lol. while I can understand wanting to cut down the flood of images...why charge for it. bandwidth is still gonna be used either in forum picture uploads or in articles. andddddddd if it was member requested.................... then what if members request it to be brought back? and sayyyyyyyyyyyyy have three free a day but if you want more charge for those? o.O

Why charge for it? I tend to look at it this way, at the very first, we were just going to have the one a day limit, and that's it. No thought of having another way of having more than one upload a day, period. But, like I said, we KNEW there would be a few who wanted more than one a day, so sprang the idea of charging for it. They are most likely saving much more in bandwidth compared to how much money they made with members who wanted more than one upload a day. That's just a guess on my part, but not many truly wanted/needed more than one a day. Good luck at trying to bring back 3 free a day, lol. We had polls, official and unofficial, again not many minded having only one a day. I kinda liked one idea that floated around, which was 7 uploads allowed per week. You could do 7 in one day, or one a day, or whatever you wanted. AS

Seven per week is definitely better than one per day. If you're having a creative jag you might want to upload a few at once. m.

i'm all for seven images a week because when you do have more than one image siting on your computer and youve just brilliantly finished / touched them up, you really want to get them up on renderosity for input. isn't the input one of the best parts of being a member?

Seven a week would be nice. I have a pair that really needs to be uploaded together, and can't do that now.

Yeah I ran headlong into the limit just yesterday with my first contributions to the galleries here. I had Two Images of the Lost In Space Robinson Family both done in Poser both wearing different Season outfits from the old TV show. I wanted them side by side for folks to compare but they ended up being 8 hours apart and oh, about 3 pages full of other folks submissions away from each other.
