Hi! I was hoping somebody could tell me how it is you make props, clothes, people, etc in Poser. Do you need a special program? I have Photoshop 5.5 and Poser 4. Is that enough? Thanks!

No, I am pretty sure you would need some kind of modelling app. Poser is mostly for just that, Posing. Photoshop is an image editing app where you would be able to make textures. Myself, I like to use Carrara for my props and models.

Yes you will need an aditional program. I use Truespace, a demo version can be downloaded from www.caligari.com. Other programs include Rhino, Raydream, 3DMax, Lightwave depending on your pocket. You may also like to check out the free 3D modeling program Anim8or. Hope this helps

It is possible to make simple props in Poser using the primitive props. By primitive props I mean the cube, cylinder, sphere, steps, etc. I created a simple gun using only manipulated cubes and cylinders.

See the simple Props building tutorial at my site. There are quite a few things you cna build and use in Poser alone. I have built poseable and animating characters with Primitives alone. http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/vision_vessel Click on the Poser button...
