I have noticed many files available in the Bryce downloads section that contain .ter files, yet I cannot figure out how to use the in Bryce5. Any help is appreciated

.ter files are for using with Terragen (free). To use them with Bryce you have to load them in Terragen then export them as .bmps - you need the FEO plugin to do this(unless there's another way of doing it that I don't know about)

I'm using the Mac version of Terragen and under Export there's also a Lightwave export (LWO) which Bryce reads through the File/Import Object... item. Not sure about the PC version. Best; Dan

I've used the lwo export to use in Bryce but if you do that you can't edit the terrain as you can if you export a bmp then create the terrain in TE But then, it's all down to personal prefs :-)

use the firmament plugin and export as a raw convert to pgm in psp or bmp.if you made a color map for the terrain there are settings that will set the camera dead center from the top to make a render

"Reinstall Windows" is NOT a troubleshooting step.
