Hello, I'm using Poser 4, so when I create a thumbnail in Poser, it creates an rsr. My question is - can I convert that rsr to a png file (so that Poser 5 users, for instance, could use it)? and if so - how?

yep you can :) my favourite tool for converting the thumbnails is P3d0Explorer with the rsr2png plugin. With it you can convert entire folders full or thumbnails with just a couple of button clicks. The latest version is 1.6.5 (free) & grabbable at the link I've included :)SAMS3D posted Mon, 08 March 2004 at 4:24 AM
I use SENO Software also, but if you have Poser 5 or any one else has it, as soon as you load it into Poser 5, Poser 5 usually can create it all by itself. Sharen

Yeah. Actually there has been reportet problem when BOTH a png and an rsr is present. I haven't encountered those problems myself, but the end of it was that merchants (and others) should ONLY supply the RSR and NOT the png. Poser Pro Pack and Poser 5 converts the rsr into a png on first encounter :o) Sure you'll have a surplus png then - with an rsr in the same folder (...) but the main thing is that you need not worry about making the png. If you want so anyway (Daz|Studio does NOT read rsr's), then Yarp's utility is GREAT for the job :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

D|S seems to be reading RSRs here - just checked several folders.

Hmm are you sure? I was so sure I had some folders with only an rsr in and they were displayed as the Das Studio icon... Perhaps that was in an earlier incarnation of D|S then :o)

The name of the software is P3DO Explorer. Seno software is the company that made it.

No need to supply a png when submitting a product, it just makes the file bigger for nothing. Poser 5 creates the png's by itself. Otherwise P3DO Explorer is a must, great suite of tools.

P3DO explorer is good for making rsrs. If you have propack or poser 5 then no rsr is made and if you are making something to work with poser 4 then you need the rsr.

Ok, is there something like P3DO that will take a MAT file and make a PNG from it for the folder, that is comparably priced and "idiot friendly?"

Just render a 91 pixel square image (or a multiple thereof and reduce in your paint program) and save as PNG.
