My second entry with frogspawn... have you ever thought that it looked rather eyelike? Made me think of Argus Panoptes...Hera's many-eyed guardian...who kept an eye on a very important cow (Io...a woman whom Zeus fancied...and so had been turned into a cow...don't ask) before being dispatched by Hermes. Once he'd been killed, Hera took his eyes and put them on the peacock's tail. I've always adored that myth.
