The one you think is the absolute end in all you set out to achieve as an artist. Technical merit doesn't matter here (well, not too much); what I am looking for is complete artistic expression. So, let's see what you did when you said what you had to say. My own is at the link.

I guess if it is supposed to be a truely Poser Image, It would be this one as it said exactly what I wanted it to say. The background has been added to in PS for the script, but otherwise its Poser. I'd have to say Talyon achieved what I set out to do, and that was a portrait piece. The lighting took me forever, not easy lighting a kneeling figure, and I made a lot of tiny adjustments to the pose to get it just so, especially on the hands. The Sisterhood of the Rose is another favorite. I was working towards an illustrative look and I think I got it. And working with three figures in a scene was a true test of patience. LOL! http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=584472&Start=1&Sectionid=1&filter_genre_id=0&WhatsNew=Yes And finally, After Midnight II, because, again, it was a lighting challenge. I also love adding plants and flowers to my images whenever I can so this one was a lot of fun as well. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=624831&Start=1&Artist=FlyByNight&ByArtist=Yes

The best I'll ever do? LOL, that'll come 35 years from now - if I'm still alive then. I learn something new with every new scene I start, every render. That's half the fun. But this one is the one with the lighting I like the best. That's the finest art of all in my view, lighting. I can spend a day or two just fiddling with the lights. Watch out, dangerous curves and big breasted nudity here! :o) Sometimes they're big, sometimes they're small. Just like in real life. :] Fish

I like different ones from time to time, for different reasons, but I really liked the way this one turned out (NUDITY warning) and it was an inspired image, so that gives it added meaning to me. I'm also starting to like some developments I'm having with P5 material room and lighting (in regards to sin-tones) in my most recent images.

I recently did a repost of one of my earliest works that I posted here. It may not TECHNICALLY be the best piece of work that I've ever done, but I do think it's the best as far as the emotion and feeling that it expresses.

My "best" picture (so far). Was a really quick one with a free texture and a simple light set up. Done in Poser 5 as a P4 render. I was more than happy with how it turned out. Been fun following all the links and looking at the amazing work produced.

TygerCub posted Thu, 18 March 2004 at 5:27 PM

My last two images are my all time favorites to date because I was able to succeed in pulling the image from my head and putting it to "paper".

In the first, "The Reading Room", I succeeded in painting the light and cloth over a pure Poser image.

In the second, "Forest of Doubt", I enjoyed trying something different... a book cover that appeared very convincing.

Both images were done predominantly in Poser with some postwork. I actually imported both of the PZ3s into Vue4 in hopes of utilizing the better lighting, but ultimately returned to Poser for the final render.

Probably my best "pure" Poser picture is Dragon Worshipper. Believe it or not the clouds are not a background picture, but were created with Poser 5's Material room. (The moon, however, was a photo placed on a square primitive.)

I think my best picture that uses Poser figures was The Servant Girl's Friends, mainly because I love how the lighting turned out. Just about everything in the picture is from Poser, but it was rendered in Vue d'Esprit.

Actually, I'd want to declare a 4-way tie between my "UnPlanned Obsolescence", "Here be Dragons - New York after Dark", "Susie-Lou's Discovery", and "Child is Born - The Gift" ..but that would be a slight misstatement - my real favorite is "Child is Born - The Gift" because of all the very real personal symbolism in it. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=320021&Start=1&Artist=leather%2Dguy&ByArtist=Yes None are necessarily what I'd call good, compared to others I've seen in the gallery, but this one and the other 3 gave me real pleasure.

Not sure if I should post one after looking at all these wonderful renders. This is just one of my favorites. I have such a small gallery I like them all. This one shows the detail better of the necklace I modeled. I try to model at least one thing for all my renders. Check out a few of my others while your at it. It won't take much time. LOL. Shameless promo.

I actually have 2 of what so far are my best. But i wont claim them as my very best just because i believe my best is yet to come :)Neither of these really ever got alot of comments but who cares. All that matters in the end is if the creator liked the image and i liked and still like both of these. And that is rare because usually i spot so many flaws in my images after the fact that i end up hating them lol. And the second one is . http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=470154&Start=1&Artist=Neo10&ByArtist=Yes

Oldie but still my favorite Poser image, Vicky free too :)

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I've looked at and commented on every image, AFAIK. Forgive me if I missed the odd one or two. It's inspirational to see what other artists like about their own work. Like everything else, art cannot exist in a vacuum and I think we're all a little too insular at times. I have learned something from each and every picture here.

There are some great images here. This is seriously difficult. :) I am hardly ever satisfied with what I do. Like quite a few of you above, I'm still learning and expect that my best is still to come. So I have a very small gallery here, but if they're still here it means I like 'em quite a bit. :)

I like my anime Bewitched image because it was a joy to do. Another great fun one was the spoof bookcover, Horseman's Brethren.

When it comes to more 'serious' art I'm torn between the 'emotional' portraits Awaiting and Eowyn's Mettle.

Both mine are portrait style. The first one because the picture you see is straight from Poser, exactly as I wanted it, with no manipulations at all. The second is because I was playing, and came up with a fairly realistic old man. You can see that one at the following link. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=236858

SamTherapy, I want to publically thank you for this wonderfull thread! Usually I don't browse the galleries, I haven't got the time, and often I get so depressed when I see what other people can do, and I can't. So this was a really GREAT opportunity to see other people's work, AND to hear WHY they chose exactely THAT image for this thread. I think I've commented on all the images here. Some of them I had seen before, most of them were new to me. Thanks also to those who commented on my image, it's very much appreciated :o)

This is my favorite image so far. I'm not even sure why because it started as something just to put in a star background for a tutorial. It's a nice simple thoughtful image of a girl staring out into space. I got a few complaints in another forum that the head seemed the wrong shape, but I'm wondering if the shadows caused that perception. One surprise was that nobody had a problem with a balloon aboard a spaceship. It turned out to be a nice bridge between the present and the future even though it was a last minute addition to the image.

I was happy with this because it moved toward poetry and personalized the camera.

I am particularly happy with this one because of the pose of his hand touching her face and the color of the render.
