I've seen a few pictures around that implement lightning in them. I was wondering how I can achieve this. I've tried using an edited tree with a white light applied to it but it didn't look very realistic. Any suggestions? I don't always want the bolts coming from above to below, as I'd like to use it for an electrical element within a scene as well, like electrical arcing. Also, How would I go about creating flash lightning in an animation? Suggestions and tutorials are welcome. Thanks.
