Hi, Does anyone know how to pan 360 degrees around a moving object and keep that object in the middle of the picture? thanks, john...

Yes that's possible. But first of all: do you want to move the camera or the object?

You have to put alot of key frames in. 8 to be exact. 2 keyframes at 12 o'clock, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock. The 2 keyframes need to be one tick apart. Its tricky because you have to keep selecting the camera to add the keyframe and then the object so the camera will rotate to the next position to be keyframed. Good Luck

Sorry Zicculus, but what you say is completely wrong. There are other ways to do it, I just need to know from the user what he want to animate. But as I go to sleep soon, it will be tomorrow.

HI, Don't go to sleep yet!!!! :-) I'm moving the object, but the camera will have to move to keep up with it. Don't know if this makes a difference, but the object is a poser figure brought in by mover. I tried linking the object to the camera, but either it doesn't work, or I'm doing it wrong. Please help, this is very frustrating. thanks, john...

Change the position of the pivot and then turn the camera ;-)

That's great Philippe, thanks, your sample is much better then mine:-)

A rule - the less keyframes you use the smoother is the movement. It is better to think a little how keyframes can be avoid than wildly set a lot. What Zicculus said will do everything, but not a smooth movement. Phoul did it exactly right (how surprising). 2 keyframes, thats it. Hey Phoul - we all learned that you are on Mac! Why are you using Windows window design for your screenshots? That is totally evil! I think it needs to be reported to Gebe - so she can do something against it! :-))), Walther

Phoul, That's just crazy enough to work! :-) Thanks a lot. I wish I talked to you before punching a hole in my wall. :-) john...
