Hi Has anyone found that Ockham's Delete lights python script, which worked marvellously with Poser 5 SR2 gets hiccoughs with the SR4 update? (Haven't tried SR4.1 yet). I find it will work once or twice but the next time the message from Win XP comes up and closes the programme down. Any suggestions Ockham? And many thanks for your useful scripts.

The Delete Lights has been through a couple of versions. One version was definitely faulty, and may show its faults even more severely in P5. The attached text is a good version that does work on my P5/SR4. (I think I'm still on SR4, not 4.1; the About says 5.04.321) Take the text and rename it to DeleteLights.py.

It worked fine for me with SR4, so far. The only difference I noticed was that it's damn sloooooow compared to running it in P4PP.

Ack!!!! I just checked, and found that the version on my website was the defective one. Sorry! It's now replaced by the good one.

Ockham Many thanks for the prompt response. Only just got back to the computer after the evening chores. Off now to test the good version.

I'm running SR4. Don't know if this will help but, if memory serves, I have the first available version of this script. I use it in both P4 and P5 with no trouble. I just ran it 6 times in SR4 on some pretty complex light sets without a hiccup. Yes, it is way slower in P5, but isn't everything?

The first (defective) version was the result of a typo. I quickly took a script that altered the interpolation of keyframes, and jammed a light-delete into its loop, without thinking. The result was an obviously bad action: deleting the same things many times. (Typically 30 times, with default framecount). Poser seems to absorb the action sometimes, so it doesn't pop up as a visible error under all circumstances. But even if it acts OK, it's best to switch to the new version.

Just used the above-linked DeleteLights Python script in P5 for Mac, and it works like a charm! Easy as pulling a chicken in a wagon! Thank you Ockham!!
