I just purchased the RibbonDressR2 for Victoria 3 (it's a great item by the way) and I've encountered some strange things. The first being that I'm using Poser 5 and when I try to do a texturized preview or a render using FireFly raytracer of model vicky 3 wearing the costume, my machine stalls at setting up the textures and nothing happens. Also, when I try to goto the material room for the RibbonDress, Poser 5 acts all wonky and the screen messes up. If I set the rendering engine to Poser 4, I can render out an image, but I still can't get to the material room or see a texturized preview as long as the costume is on the model. Any ideas, or is it geared toward Poser 4 and should just deal with it?

Hi, I don't think the merchant geared this towards Poser 5. This is what I'm finding on the product page "System Requirements: Poser4,Victoria3(sr1.1)". No word of Poser 5. Hope that helps, Deb

Sorry... I had overlooked this thread. ;) My product is tested by POSER4 and POSER5. However, since there is a difference in expression of bump and a translucence object, there are many products which recommend Poser4. About an affair with an unstable system: In the combination of Japanese version@Windows-XP and the English version POSER5, it becomes very unstable. Supposing it carries out or, it may be that a trouble is in the OS side. In my environment(Windows2000J+Poser5E), RibbonDress operated normally. I also want advice. ;(

I'll have a look at this item and see what can be done.

I just tried rendering in Poser 5 SR3 with various settings from production quality to draft quality.

I'm not having any problems with it.

What version of Poser 5 are you using and is V3 using a hi-rez texture?

Hm... I guess it must be my version of my software. I'm still using the 5.0.0.229 version... Geez, more and more stuff needed for download. Other than that, I'm using a 3000x4000 texture for the body and a 1400x1400 texture for the head. Even without the textures and with the clothes, Poser gets stuck in the same place as before. IN any case, I have managed to get the RibbonDress to work if I use the Poser 4 rendering engine and not use the texture preview. Thanks for your help!

You might try installing the latest service release (SR4.1)from the curiouslabs site which would put the version up over 5.0.2.xxx

They added alot of useful things.

Also those texture sizes seem very heavy. What happens if you render with no textures under firefly?

Well, it's just as I say, Poser 5 stops after it starts to inintialize the loading process of the textures, even if I don't have any on the body and I can't disable the textures on the RibbonDress since when I go into the Material Room and select it, Poser just ups and dies. But, I CAN render an image with textures and whatnot if I don't edit the material to the RibbonDress and use the Poser 4 render, and I've posted an image of it. The silly thing is that I've managed to render out a compilcated scene using the Poser 4 render in just a few seconds in comparison to FireFly, which has taken almost 5 or more hours tops with a different scene without the Ribbon Dress. And just so you know, this is the first time that this sort of thing has happened since my use with Poser 5.

The size of the texture of a ribbon dress is 6000*450pix. Poser5 SR3 of this texture size was outside the standard.Restrictions of the maximum size are 4096pix. In my Poser5 Japanese version(v5.0.3 .307), In the case where it is set as cr2, and Mat-pose, it operates normally. However, it cannot edit again in a material room. SR4 is applied to my POSER English version(v5.0.4 .321).The texture of 6000pix was able to be edited in this version. What is necessary is updating Poser5 or just coming it smaller than 4000Pix to carry out texture size, although it is guessed. I want you to try. :)
