I was curious if anyone else has printed digital photos onto metallic paper? I'd never even seen the stuff until I happened across it in a business supplies catalogue...and it's just the most amazing effect.

Haven't tried any of the digital stuff - but I have played around with some of Ilford's metallic papers for traditional darkroom work. Neat effect - which wears off almost immediately (for me). I dunno - but to me, if you've got a good photo, it shouldn't need "special effects out of a can" - but that's the snob in me coming out :^)

Have done some digital prints onto metallic paper (Silver and Gold) in the past and they looked pretty good!.. just a couple of things to be aware of - 1) make sure you print on the correct side. I did'nt. The print looked great until I lifted the paper up and turned it into a multi-coloured waterfall. 2) It can be difficult if you intend to frame under glass or perspex. Make sure the print is completely dry and use a reasonably thick mount between it and the glass.
One other point, wear those gloves that are used for handling negs, as the metallic paper picks up fingerprints like crazy!!

I tried metallic card- and you are soooo right, the effect I have acheived with my monochrome digital images has been fantastic. Thanks for the idea.
