I have allways been fascinated by that scene in John Carpenter's **"THE THING"** where the derelict saucer is discovered frozen in the arctic ice. So it should only follow that sooner or later I'd get around to making something similar. ;)No all I need is Riko to make some hot "Thing-Babe" to stand in front of it and then it Millar Time ;)

Actually, hauksdottir, the original story for the movie was NOT titled "Who Guards Those Who Guard Themselves?" (sometimes paraphrased as "Who Guards the Guardians Themselves?" or "Who is Guarding the Guards?"). The film was based on the story "Who Goes There?" by Don A. Stuart, aka John W. Campbell Jr. By the way, you even got the quote wrong. It's "Qui custodiet IPSOS custodes?" -jjsemphauksdottir posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 3:18 AM
Typo. I say it correctly. And, I've read Campbell's story, too. During the mid to late 60s I devoured science fiction... then veered more into high fantasy... and then into mysteries. Better plots.
