Hello,
I am a beginner hobbyist with Vue4.2, having played with it for about three months. I find I can make extremely realistic indoor scenes and striking abstract scenes with objects, but I seem to have a lot of trouble with landscapes. Sky and water seem great, but terrains mapped with the "grass" texture seem to look like a carpet or at best like a golf course--very artificial--even in the distance. Changing the scaling doesn't seem to help much. Can anyone tell me some tricks or point me to a tutorial to make more realistic green hills, etc.
Thanks,
rps53

JMHO....I use "real" grass models for the up close & leave the "carpeting" for the back ground. There are some freebies here in the free stuff area. But I've also purchased Ornlu's grass & am very happy with that purchase. You could also try here....great free plant models. Hope this helps :)dlk30341 posted Mon, 22 March 2004 at 6:23 PM

You could also try the free Bantam 3D Grass program. Unfortunately the site went down a few weeks ago, but so far as I am aware the intention is to resurrect it ASAP so you might like to search for Bantam 3D on Google periodically.
