Hey everyone.I thought I'd throw my hat into this months competition. So here it is.
I didn't want to do anything traditional so because the topic was STILL LIFE, I thought I'd do an image that symbolized the stillness of life.
Flowers growing around a tomb is a very strange sight. It's hard to explain but for anyone who's seen it, there's a moment where you can't help but stare at them and think.
It's that moment that I've tried to capture here.
Anyways, enjoy! And if you like it, vote for it. And as always, comments are very appriciated.

The flowers at funerals and on graves are symbolic of resurrection. (Seemingly dead through the winter only to come back to life in the spring). Good image.
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

"The flowers at funerals and on graves are symbolic of resurrection" Duh! I can't believe that I actually never knew or guessed that - I thought they were there just because they were pretty. Sometimes I wonder about my brain-wattage........ Very nice image, Dash.

Flowers were also used as a pretty way to cover the smell back when bodies lay in state in homes and during wakes in the cultures that had them, before embalming became the norm. So you're not far wrong, looking and smelling "pretty" did have something to do with forming the tradition of flowers at funerals.
