Well, I finally have entered a contest. I wasn't gonna post it, but everyone else does, so hey! Why not! And the guidelines were all about lighting and texturing and stuff, so I went, hey, awesome! I think I can do that!

All right! It's a still life! Yeaho! And it's the final....
and, uh....

ROCK ON!

(oh, here's the image)

Are you open to any conversation about your piece? I have an observation and a question.

The texturing and lighting on the walkways and walk-tunnel are really wonderful. There's my observation lol

@Mrdoodoobird - (wait, did i spell that right? ;o) ) Your model(s) looks real to me, but what it looks like is a miniature, a model used for effects shots in a film. I'll be darned if i can tell you why, though. The only thing i can think of is that it has something to do with the real or faked DOF. It looks like a model standing in front of a blurred image - or one in the distance enough to get the DOF. The only other thing i can think of is that it has to do with the textures somehow, but, again, i'll be darned if i can tell how. I'd love to find out, though. 8o)

yes, it actually does have to do with the DOF. When a camera opens it's shutter, it does not open it to an infinitely small point, it opens it a certain amount. (in the dark, it opens it more than when it's light), and while this is not usually seen in in images of cities (unless if the shutters were huge), it is almost always seen in images of small things, where the size of the shutter is more obvious. Actually, I can't really explain it. I know how it works, but I'm just too tired. hehe. But anyway, yes. I actually did this on purpose. Most still lifes are small, so I tried to subliminally make the image look smaller, as if you could put it on a table, even though it is actually large. I was trying to make a city look like a still life. Never mind.

Dude. I got it. I'm always in that state of mind. ;o) Then congratulations! You did a great job! If you could find another small way to balance the smallness with a reminder of the largeness it might create more of a brain stall in the viewer. Then again, it could just be me. I'm not sure which orifice i'm speaking out of anymore. Sorry.
