I have created a street surface and my model is walking on it and I want her shadow to be cast on the street with a light set to infinite light setting (so it will be like moonlight). But I am not able to cast a shadow on the street with my light set at infinite. What am I doing wrong?

When I create a spotlight and bring it in close to the model, I am able to see a shadow, but using a spot light will be much more difficult to create a moon shadow for a character who is walking along a street. (At least it seems that way to me.)
