Hi everyone. My beaver model is almost finished. I am trying to fix the texture map. I think the hair is to large, maybe it needs a tighter painting. It still has no whiskers and the feet need to be black/darker. I need some help with the back. I see this problem often. It gets stretched over a part of the map that, even though it is split, it still pulls out. Ugh. The next map, I'll work more with to get the fur to lay down in the right direction. Any suggestions? lbd

What mapping mode are you using? Planar? I'd suggest seperating the feet, head, and body w/tail into three seperate maps. I'd do cylindrical mapping for the body w/tail A very carefully painted planar mapping on the head And maaaybe planar mapping on the legs. Looking good. Brian

ominousplay, NICE JOB ON THE MODEL : ) BRIEN, IS THERE A TUTORIAL TO DO THAT WITH UV MAPPER PRO? I`VE WORKRD WITH A GIRRAFF (SPELLING)MODEL & THEY HAVE JUST A SIDE VIEW MAP & IN THE FRONT & BACK THE TEXTURES STETCH A LOT. HMM, AFTER RE-READING YOUR ADVICE TO ominousplay I THINK I MIGHT HAVE IT....WHEN I AM IN MAP PRO I SEPERATE THE BODY PARTS YOU MENTIONED BY SELECTING AND DRAGING THEM, THEN I SELECT AN INDIVIDUAL PART AND APPLY YOUR SEGESTED MAP METHOD TO EACH PART : ) AM I ON THE RIGHT TRACK? THANKS, KIM

The mapping worked well, I'm still not sure if I can squeeze more out of it yet, or not. Think I'll move on to the next project. Thanks for the help everyone.
