Well this is the next small step in my photorealism project. I figure to achieve the level of quality I'm aiming for I'm basically going to have to refine each object individually until I am satisfied with how it looks. The subject this time is a squirt bottle. This is a pretty early version, I just finished the mesh, no texture for it yet. There are some problems with the top so that mesh will likely see some revisions. Anyway I'm looking for critiques to improve the level of photorealism so please tear this apart. Also if anyone knows of a good, highend, UV Unwrapper/Mapper program I could really use one so please post. Thanks! Blog

This is excellent work Blog, great detail here! Have you tried UVMapper Pro?

UV Mapper would be great but I am using TrueSpace 6 which won't allow me to save files as .obj; any other suggestions?

Unwrap3d imports/exports a huge range of file-types My only crit of the spray bottle is that you need a hole or slit for the trigger to slide back along

Pardon my french, but here goes: The trigger looks too insubstantial at that length to withstand the continual pressures on it. Is the screwtop glowing with too much ambience or is that just the way the light's reflecting off the ridges? The width of the body looks too narrow, especially with the depth of the concavity, which is presumably on both sides. The closer knife seems to be intersecting with the bottle on both ends... but you probably don't care about that right now, so, nevermind. Good luck with the top mesh. I get very frustrated with things like that. Looks very nice so far, Blog!

I am in the process of remodeling everything about the screwtop; including a mechanism for the trigger; I just wanted to post the rough mesh before I left to school. I will likely have the mesh completed by this evening. As for the narrowness I want it to look used and partially empty.

But the weak trigger is realistic - I always bust them about halfway through the bottle... PS even if you didn't go the PR route it'd still be cool. Haven't seen too many spray bottles around - maybe we could make a chess set outta them!

My bad then. LOL @ chess set.

No, really! On a big 64 square Armstrong linoleum kitchen tile floor! I can see it now "Fantastik to Windex's Formula-409 3, Windex x Generic Brand.
