That might stir some ideas. Or take a cruise through the galleries and think about what stories could be behind the graphics. Or take two graphics at random and try to think of a story that would tie the two together. One thing leads to another.dialyn posted Tue, 06 April 2004 at 10:11 AM

Another idea at this thread.tjames posted Tue, 06 April 2004 at 1:41 PM
It's important to read. Read somethings you normally don't: If you normally read Sci-fi, read a detective story for example. You'ld be surprised how cross-circuiting your thought process helps you come up with new ideas. Join a writers group...heh heh. Don't read non-fiction. Don't watch TV. I think reading stimulates the brain where watching TV turns it to mush...(Sound of Road Runner catoons in background) I have a four-year old.

I like the blank space you gave to start writing on. ;) I agree with almost everything except not reading non-fiction. Sometimes a news story or historical event or biography or just about any non-fiction can give a seed idea for a story. I don't mean research...I mean just that spark of "what if....?" that can flame into a story.

Not that I want to whip up the competition but there is a Writer's Challenge currently going on. See the link. Or maybe that's what you've just finished? If not, dive in. I always find a change of scene inspiring. A walk in a state park, a long bike ride, an expedition to Antarctica. Whatever you can work in. :-) jon
