Hey, folks - I've pretty much finished a 51 second animation (it includes the shot of the jet fighter getting blown up by an alien flying saucer (www.azchip.homestead.com), and a WHOLE bunch more). I've tried using AVI2MPG to convert it to an MPEG, but am not getting it to work. It seems to convert, but then it has some kind of glitch that results in the video stopping while the audio continues.... Anyone have any ideas either what I can use to make the conversion or what might be going wrong in AVI2MPG? I'd really appreciate any help! - Chip

PS: It has to be an MPEG -- I looked at bink and smacker -- won't do the job.....

Is there a place you can post it for me to download? I will run it through my system at work for you. Maybe post it up as a jpeg sequence or something like that?

Thanks for the offer -- I acutally wound up cutting the project down to 29 seconds and was able to get it to the size limit using AVI2VCD.... I'm working on getting Media Cleaner Pro at work myself; shouldn't have any problems then.... For anyone's info, though, the animation will be posted at IRTC.org as soon as the current competition is up for voting; the topic is Alien Invasion and the deadline is October 15. I had to post early since I have a whole bunch of stuff going on for the first half of October.... If you remember the animation I did with the jet getting whacked by an alien flying saucer, this is more of the same.... - Chip

I thought you said you where working on Avids? We had media cleaner pro budgeted for this year but then recently cancelled it...Avid 10.0 will be out in a few weeks and it will include mediacleaner.....you'd think they would stress that point a bit more :)

You'd think.... But I work on a Media 100, and Media Cleaner Pro was included IF ordered before June 30, 2000. Unfortunately, the wonderful procurement division of my great and ponderous employer sat on its colletive bureaucratic butt and missed the boat. (Do I sound bitter? GOOD!) ;o)
