Think broadway stage lighting, not reality, we're talking THEATER here!!! (See you after at Sardi's)

Regarding Puck - try lighting him with a radial light with ranged falloff (probably around 15). If you put the light close enough to him, it will light just him, and not the surrounding area. That leaves you free to darken that area as much as you want to without hiding Puck! Lovely work so far - wish I'd done this!

I have to agree with ddruckenmiller on this one. You are dealing with a fantasy stage play, so theatrical type lighting might help bring out your foreground characters, add some dimension and make them look less "stuck on". I really think you've got a great scene and characters put together here. I'm anxious to see the finished render.

Im really looking for a "painterly" look with this, rather than a theatrical one. The subject has been painted many times and that
s where I got my inspiration for this. Actually I had considered giving this a theatrical treatment initially, with a plank floor instead of grass and flat and obviously painted scenery but decided against it. Anyway, Ive had two days of solid fairies, now I
m off to kill something in Unreal Tournament. Bang bang!
