PS The picture was not rendered in Poser, lol, but is the place I am going. The last time I was there the lion was a kitty that sat in my lap and the female elephant was small enough for me to pat on top of her head. I will do some serious animal skin texture research. Taking my digital camera with to get some extreme close-ups, a la Wyane's World style.
Mmmm .... Numanoid wanders off thinking about making a realistic skin texture pack for the animals.

Oh my they look deadly. I applaud your courage being around such savage and brutal beasts. Be careful of their cameras. :) At least the animals look friendly. :)

Jungle? JUNGLE?? I don't see anything there that remotely resembles jungle. Looks like dry savannah to me lol. And it looks a lot like South Africa actually. Enjoy! :] Fish

Boy, are we envious! But my cat wouldn't be happy if I was gone for a month... and if I came home smelling of lion and cheetah, she'd be really really upset. Carolly

Don't forget to get a cloesup of the lion's inner mouth. This is a part that leaves a lot to be desired in most textures available today. ;) Have a nice trip !

You know, we humans have a uvula in the back of the throat... I wonder if lions do, too, and if it vibrates when they roar? Carolly NOTE: I've always promounced it Yoo'-vyoo-la and so it would take a instead of an as the article. Now I'm not sure.

Normally I would use the word "veld" and not "jungle", but for the benefit of some people who may not be familiar with the word I used jungle as a substitute. And I will be going to South Africa, Mocambique, Botswana, Namibia, and maybe a few less savoury and safe places, so I am sure I will find some real jungle somewhere in that lot. The inside of a lions mouth? I want to see the three people who asked for that first show me pictures of the inside of their domestic cats mouths, lol. If you show me that, I will bring you the inside of a lions mouth. Bye all. Till 17 May.

I only managed to take 1100 pictures, lol.
PS The lion is tranquilised, we were busy releasing it back into the wild after it had spent some time pleasuring the lady lions to make lots of new kitties. The top left lion is one of the females.

Aww it looks DEAD! But of course I take your word for it when you say it's not. Great pic, you can almost count the hair in his fur :o) Must be awesome to actually be able to pat a lion, tranquilized or not :o) They appear almost tame? since you can get so close to the lioness too. 1100 pictures! WOW! That's quite a lot to sort thru, you know how to spend the rest of the summer now LOL

Pretty spots on that leopard! Nice clean healthy coat on it and that lioness from what we can see. Eating people would probably be bad for their diet and we wouldn't want that! ;^) That poor lion is going to get back to his own pride and talk about "the strangest dream" where he was kidnapped and taken to a cathouse where he had to satify the ladies before they'd let him go... and the other lions will just nod and go, "Uh-huh, eating those overripe berries again, weren't we?" For those who still wantr their big cat fix, the BBC has made several short series of programs, following various big cats about their daily lives in Africa. The last set had a female cheetah facing down a lion. And the cheetah has started sitting on top of the camera vehicle to get a better view.
