I got a report today that my downloads are not opening for someone who never has problems. Has anyone else gotten error messages from Aladdin? "not in the expected format" I have files in the bryce dl section here and this is the first problem I couldn't figure out. I had successful dl& open with one that he mentioned.Spanfarkle posted Fri, 29 September 2000 at 2:54 PM
I think there are other ways to open in expander. Drag and Drop, open THROUGH expander, etc. If it works for you with no problem then the other person might be doing something wrong maybe.

Or the file could have gotten corrupted in the process of downloading to their machine. Have them download the file again. If that doesn't work, test the file yourself. Download it and try to open it. If you get a corrupted file, upload a new version.

I got this email today: I figured it out! I DLed some Bryce mats tonight, and I got the same message when trying to unzip them. They were .sit files, which had never given it problems before. I noticed, however, that they were named like your files, i.e., whatever.mat.sit. When I renamed the files, by removing the .mat part, they worked fine. I looked in my recycle bin, and found hoodoos.obp.zip. I restored it, renamed it, and it unzipped just fine. I don't know why my PC is so picky, but that was the cure.
