That room is way too clean for a head unless he's locked up off in juvie and the rest of his stuff is being held for eveidence.

I would just get rid of the haze in the skylab.Then it seems pretty good.You have good light coming from the window. Then go out and see about NA.

Start by turning haze and sunlight off. Create a source of light to come through the windows, such as the one you have now. You can have multiple lights slightly separated to achieve soft shadows. Refer to madmax's zenith sunlight system for that. Anyway, once that is done, make four rows of for radial lights, and group them so that it covers the whole room. Set those at about 3 or less, and turn their shadows off. Now move them around until it looks right. And last, add radial lights with shadows turned off where radiosity is needed. Might not be the proper way, but it has worked for me :D.

Personally (and I do underlight images) I wouldn't have any lights in the room at all and all illumination comes from the sun coming through the blinds.I think it looks more natural unless the room has a lamp in it or something. AND gives you really quick render times. At least try one and post it just to prove me wrong. I'm assuming it's a six sided room and not just the 2 walls, ceiling and floor we can see? ANd yeah, haze is not good. You could try visible lights coming through the window, but that shoves the render time back up again.

I'm with ddruckenmiller on this. Seems way too clean a room in relation to the posters and graffitti. Needs clothes, some CD cases, an incense burner, books, a pizza box or two, and other items scattered on the floor. As far as the room goes its not too bad otherwise. Maybe instead of atmospheric haze, there might be a way to simulate the sun hitting dust using a volumetric object of sorts.

All of the above if taken into consideration will be a good help. my input 1. Turn off the sun. 2. Put some walls in the "unseen" part of the room to simulate realism 3. Put spotlight to simulate sun coming in the window 4. Put some negative Omni lights (light with a minus multiplier) 5. DON'T USE VOLUMETRICS! slows your render time too much. 6.
