Attached Link: Render Comparison
Thought I'd try rendering the same scene in different programs. Here's the ones I've done so far.Pinklet posted Tue, 20 April 2004 at 2:02 PM
Which do you like the most? I like the Carrara and the Universe. I think the worst is Poser. Gee Bryce took 22 min while Carrara took only 45 seconds.

Got to agree, Carrara and Universe look good and are fast. Poser hurts the eyes.

I'd like to see one done in Carrara 3. If you don't have a copy , you could pass the scene to me and I could render it. I could also do a render in Strata.

I'm having the same idea, I have a few old versions of some other software and some free ones that I have from my 3D World subscriptions, but I'm not real familiar with them. So I'm going to try and make the Scene And generic textures available for down load so others can render in their favorite package. And send me a copy. at least that's the plan, may by this weekend.

Now do some some global ilummination renders. I see Bryce 5 is still optimized for Pentium 233 CPU's only. :)

If you would like to participate in this little endeavor. The scene is now available in 3 formats 3DS, OBJ and LWO2, the default texture maps are also available. Any logos will have to be added to the texture maps. Texture maps http://stevesartgallery.bryce-alive.net/scene/bb_scene_tex.zip Lightwave Objects LWO http://stevesartgallery.bryce-alive.net/scene/bb_scene_lwo.zip OBJ http://stevesartgallery.bryce-alive.net/scene/bb_scene_obj.zip 3DS http://stevesartgallery.bryce-alive.net/scene/bb_scene_3ds.zip Any images rendered can be emailed to StevesArtGallery@comcast.net Please put Baseball Scene, as the subject, and attach an uncompressed image at 1024X768, with a brief explanation of program& version, render setting & options, and render time. PS...let me know if there are any problems with the files.

The poser one is lit slightly differently so maybe that is why it doesn`t look as good as it should.
