Hmm. Have you created a UV map for your object? If not, then textures won't be applied. (If you haven't got it already, get UVMapper by Steve Cox. It's free and can create the UV maps for you. There's plenty of tutorials out there on how to go about the exact process). Cheers, Diolma

Assuming you've imported your object into Poser, unless you have surface material groups defined already (and it sounds like you don't), you need to define some (ie. you need a surface material besides "Preview" to apply textures to). You can do this inside Poser using the grouping tool. See Dr.Geep's grouping tutorial (it actually may be contained in one of the magnet tutorials, I can't remember exactly) for info on exactly how to do that. Hope this helps, Unzipped

Hey after youve finished you object in wings3D make an object selection(the red piramid) then right clinck and inside the menu youll see uvmapping, read about it in the PDF tutorial, maybe this will solve your problem. (sorry for my english, no my native languaje) -Vlad

I've assigned material groups in Wings, then painted using the 'bucket' in Poser (well, it' works, mate
-Monty Python..;) on each texture. Kinda primitive, but I've managed. Stop by the Wings forum here, also drop by the UV Mapping forum, they've both got folks who know this stuff..take care.

okay...thnx you guys... one last question... how can i make a prop (.obj) into a figure?
TrekkieGrrrl posted Wed, 21 April 2004 at 2:19 AM
Making the obj into a prop is very easy :o) Import it at the correct size, then use the little + in your props folder to add it, name it appropriately and whalla!.. one Poser prop :o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

yes, but how can i make it a clothing figure? (p.s..the textures still doesnt work! =(..oh wel..ill just use the colour bucket...=/)
TrekkieGrrrl posted Wed, 21 April 2004 at 3:45 AM
Oh sorry I misunderstood your question. In order to make it into a cloth figure (I assume you mean conforming and not dynamic clothes) you will need to group it first. You must name the groups in the obj the same as they are on the character you want the clotes to fit, and observe Poser's soetimes weird casing (I just almost got bald over a pair of pants where I had named the group Hip and not hip) You must then set up a hierachy for the clothes, if you have Poser 5 or Pro Pack you can use the Setup Room, or there are programs made for it, such as KattMann's PWizard. You say the colours still doesn't work? You did UVMap it? And saved the obj? And that saved obj IS the one you're using? If all this is true I don't understand why the colours won't work.
