Does anyone know much about this scripting language? Is it unique for poser or is it used in other 3d apps. Would this allow us to further utilize higher rendering engines?

It is an object oriented scripting language, currently used mostly for system admin. I've mostly used Perl, so I don't know that much about it. http://www.python.org/doc/Summary.html Download a copy and play with it. It's free. If you want a book I'd probably suggest the O'Reilly & Associates one, just because all their books are good.

Python is a lot like java, as far as I can tell. It's kind of the defacto language for Linux scripting as I understand it. What is Poser Pro? I haven't heard of it. FYI, you might look at a product called Blender, which is a free higher end 3-D system scriptable with Python. It's out of the Netherlands but I think there's a link to it in the free software section of 3D cafe.
