Hey! I got my image together..but I'm having problems with the textures...they look flat. Can you help me? And anymore helpful tips would make me happy! I kinda got the idea from Thomas's tutorial. Thanks! Jinx

I think lighting is the key. Are you using Vue's ambient generated light or are you creating your own?

The reason I ask is that you can get much better results by creating your own ambient light.

In addition, indoor scenes are difficult to illuminate. There's a lighting tutorial in the backroom that discusses indoor lighting. Unfortunately, the tutorial is down right now (by nggalai).

I think I learned about lighting from the book 'digital lighting & rendering' by Jeremy Birn. If you want to learn about lighting that is an excellent place to start.

Id also soften up shadows and lights, the standard settings look so artificial and hard...

Try changing the camera angle. A head on shot tends to flatten an image. The way you have it, the composition is very static.

rodluc- Where did you get the ground stone texture with grass in between. Could you possibly link me to the source or would you be willing to share it? Thanks, Nick
