Hi does poser 5 support rendering to quicktime mov files?

The Mac version does. The PC version uses Windows .avi format instead, although you can convert the files afterward with the proper utilities.

Try rendering into single images, then you can use "open image sequence " if you have Quicktime Pro. Rendering to an avi, compressing it there and, then recompressing it in Quicktime can create artefacts. By the way - this are not file formats, Quicktime and AVIs are only containers, you also can play an avi in Quicktime if the right compression codec is present. But there are some codecs which do not play crossplatform.

Thanx for the response. The reason I need to render to quicktime mov files is that I need alpha channels in the movie file, and as far as I know quicktime avid codec is one of the few video codecs that supports alphas.

The Huffyuv codec for .avi has alpha support ... although you have to enable it in the codec's configuration dialogue.
